The conversation typically revolves around lowering administrative costs, downsizing staff, and avoiding future prison construction. But, reforms could also reduce the growing cost of prison healthcare.

My name is Charlie Katebi. I'm a policy analyst with the Wyoming Liberty Group. I’d like to thank the Department of Health for researching and bringing greater attention to Wyoming’s lack of healthcare transparency, and why we need greater clarity for patients.
Advocates for government-run healthcare constantly praise single-payer systems in Europe and Canada as paragons of patient satisfaction. But how well are patients treated in these countries?
Charlie Katebi spoke about to Glenn Woods on Boldrepublic.com about the problem with drawing people into a poorly run government program. Given the dearth of health care providers in Wyoming, any reduction to Medicaid reimbursements would likely limit health care access. And here the governor wanted to expand Medicaid! Thank goodness the legislature rejected Medicaid expansion.
