Wyoming Liberty Group was pleased to welcome Lennie Jarratt to Cheyenne for the fourth Parents Unite Event

Jarratt is the project manager for the Center for Transforming Education at the Heartland Institute. The Heartland Institute has been providing resources on issues like school choice since 1984. The Heartland Institute is one of the nation's most influential think tanks, producing very well regarded articles and policy measures conservative people have come to rely on. 

Jarratt's particular areas of expertise mesh well with Wyoming Liberty's focus on transparency and school choice. He has worked for years to help make sure that local school boards are open and transparent, held accountable for how they operate and spend money. Through this work he has uncovered contracts that were improperly assigned without being bid out, costing the taxpayers money. He also has discovered vote fraud by a school board member, something particularly interesting fresh off the 2018 elections. In addition, Jarratt uncovered electioneering, or active engagement in an election, on taxpayer time. Jarratt is an expert on Common Core, as well.

Jarratt is the former managing editor of "Champion News," a website in Illinois that reports about education issues and Illinois politics. He was also the managing editor of "Education Matters," in Illinois, where he also researched issues affecting education issues across the state.

Jarratt has been on Fox News, Breitbart, ABC Chicago, and has been featured on radio stations and in newspapers across the country.

Jarratt's presentation for Wyoming Liberty and the people of Wyoming covers the myths around charter schools and school choice. He discussed the common misconceptions people have about these subjects, and how these misconceptions shape the way people view education. He addressed the ten most common myths that people believe about this subject, providing clear information about the actual truths behind each subject.

He also addressed the best methods for student funding, whether or not parents really want or need school choice, and if there's any government run programs that actually provide total satisfaction for participants.
