Key Liberty Votes 2011
For the second year in a row, Charles Curley has compiled Key Liberty Votes, which will now be a yearly installment in the Wyoming Liberty Group’s Liberty Brief publication. This document serves as a quick-reference guide to how each Wyoming legislator respected liberty in the 2011 Legislative Session.
All legislation affects liberty, and this is why the comprehensive Liberty Index (which will soon be updated for the 2011 session) measures each bill that was introduced into either house during a Wyoming session. However, Key Liberty Votes covers bills that are directly tied to individual rights, personal responsibility or government accountability.
Try as some might, the liberty interests in these bills cannot be dismissed as unimportant, nor can legislators plausibly say that they did not consider the ramifications of these bills on liberty when they cast their votes.
We will be hosting an event to present Key Liberty Votes here at our offices here in Cheyenne (1902 Thomes Ave., Suite 201) on Tuesday, August 2 at 6:00 p.m. All are invited to attend and no RSVP is necessary. You will have a chance to meet the policy team, hear a presentation on each of the Key Liberty Votes, and join in a discussion on each of these issues. We hope you can join us!
